MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama death row inmate has asked a federal judge to postpone his January execution while he and other inmates challenge the state's lethal injection method. A lawyer for Christopher Brooks says the execution should be delayed until the court hears claims that the state's new drug combination constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. A motion to that effect was filed Friday. A federal judge last month allowed Brooks to join ongoing litigation arguing the state plans to use an ineffective sedative. Brooks is scheduled to be executed Jan. 21 in the 1993 death of Deann Campbell. It would be Alabama's first execution in more than two years....
